Name the uncertainty
Write the question in language the affected people recognize. Record what is known, what is assumed, and what would change the decision.
A constraint is not merely an obstacle. It may protect safety, trust, cost, dignity, or the integrity of another system.
Choose a learning step
Prefer the smallest step that can produce meaningful evidence. Define what will be observed, who will interpret it, and what decision the result can support.
Preserve what is learned, including failed arrangements. A correction becomes valuable when the next crossing does not have to repeat it.
